“Calling the Lost, The Wandering and The Hurting Home”
About
Our Vision:
• To be an international family of God gathered around Word and Sacrament.
• To be an increasingly diverse community that seeks to do justice with love and mercy within our walls, in our neighborhood, and through ministry partnerships worldwide.
• We are on a journey, seeking to fulfill our shared mission of being and making disciples.
Our Mission:

We are a home for God’s children, a diverse community of Christ’s servants, and a prism for God’s light.
We desire, as children of the light, to:

  1. Create a fellowship where the burdened and suffering will find support and comfort, where the alienated will be accepted, and where those seeking God will be shown the way.
  2. Participate in worship that is Biblical, Reformed, modern, Local and Global.
  3. Prepare people for service by nurturing their gifts and encouraging them to grow in discipleship.
  4. Present Christ to others by showing God’s love in Jesus for the world and promoting justice and peace for our neighbors.

Are we safe in God’s house?
Statistics have shown that places of worship are the safest places in the world. But, we all know church buildings that have been devastated by weather, blown up by bombs and attacked by gunmen. Just recently a gunman attacked a Baptist church in Texas, killing and injuring most of the worshipers. And it was reported weeks after that a gunman entered a church of Christ in Tennessee, killing one and injuring several others. Our hearts go out to these victims and their families, the media is filled with naysayers who mock Christians for our faith in God and to ridicule the power of prayer.
Keep in mind that a church building is not God’s house! God’s house is within you and me (Luke 17:21). God’s house is not of this world (John 18:36). We are safe in God’s house, because He lives there (Ephesians 2:19-22). It is also true, that “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:3).
  5. In God’s house there is forgiveness of all sin (1 John 1:3-2-2).
  6. In God’s house there is salvation from this evil world (5:1-5).
  7. In God’s house there is love that surpasses all knowledge (Ephesians 3:14-21).
  8. In God’s house there is peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:4-19).
  9. In God’s house there is joy inexpressible and full of glory (1 Peter 1:3-9).
  10. In God’s house there is hope eternal (Titus 1;1-2).
  11. In God’s house there is every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3-23).
“We have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens” (2 Corinthians 5:1). “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and he will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” (Revelation 21:3-5).
